What should I know before a trench is dug?
Underground utilities have to be marked before any digging. In New York that starts with a free call to 811 (Dig Safely New York) at least two full working days before digging starts. It also helps to know where the line needs to start and end and what’s going in the trench, so the route can be planned around trees, driveways and anything already buried.
